Burning & Dodging Tutorial

I used the burning tool to darken the sky. I used a brush with a master diameter of 288 px and I used 16% exposure on the highlights. I used the dodging tool to lighten the rocks. I used a brush with a master diameter of 813 px and I used 9% exposure on the midtones.

This is a picture of some clothes pins on a clothes line in my backyard. It displays horizontal and vertical lines. I converted it to black and white, changed the amount of contrast, and blurred out the background.

This is a picture of three pieces of wood in a fence in my backyard. It displays vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines. I converted it to black and white, changed the exposure, and made the left side of the picture darker.
This is a picture of two rocks on a beach in Monterey. It displays a jagged line. I converted it to black and white, made the top of the left rock darker, and changed the exposure.
